Born amidst the challenges of the pandemic in 2021, SWAYED, Inc. emerged in Montreal as a response to a pivotal conversation among black friends. What began as a simple exchange of hair care tips evolved into a profound realization of the underserved realm of Afro hair care in Canada. Unlike other hair types most often catered to in beauty salons, our community has long relied on self-taught expertise passed down through generations, a legacy within families, not within beauty schools.

SWAYED was conceived as a solution to this disparity, a platform designed to bridge the gap between traditional knowledge and modern accessibility. Here, individuals, whatever their professional background, can share their invaluable hairstyling skills.
